    Introduction

This document covers the steps to configure the VOIP bandwidth limit on CUCM.

In Cisco Unified Communications Manager Administration, use the System > Location Info menu path to configure locations. Use locations to implement call admission control in a centralized call-processing system. Call admission control enables you to regulate audio quality and video availability by limiting the amount of bandwidth that is available for audio and video calls over links between the locations

Locations, which are available in Cisco Unified Communications Manager, provides call admission control for centralized call-processing systems. Call admission control enables you to control the audio quality and video quality of calls over a wide-area (IP WAN) link by limiting the number of calls that are allowed on that link at the same time. For example, you can use call admission control to regulate the voice quality on a 56-kb/s frame relay line that connects your main campus and a remote site.
Audio and video quality can begin to degrade when too many active calls exist on a link and the amount of bandwidth is oversubscribed. Call admission control regulates audio and video quality by limiting the number of calls that can be active on a particular link at the same time.

    • Configure a region for each type of codec that is used in your system.
    • Configure a separate location for each IP WAN link to which you want to apply call admission control. Allocate the maximum available bandwidth for calls across the link to that location.
    •  If you set the bandwidth to Unlimited, you allocate unlimited available bandwidth and allow an unlimited number of active calls on the IP WAN link for that location.

    Configuration

Perform the following steps for Bandwidth configuration

You can check BW setting under System->Location Info->location. Depending on the network capacity, you can do the configuration.

    Let's assume unlimited bandwidth.

Step 1 Choose System > Location.
    Step 2 Click Add New

    Step 3 Configure following:
    Location:Hub_None.
    Name: lab
    Video Bandwidth: Unlimited
    Immersive Video Bandwidth: Unlimited

You can also set the Audio bandwidth and video bandwidth in * kbps based on your network requirement.

    Step 4 Click Save
