Core Issue
This issue is seen if the Real-time Information Server (RIS) service is not started or stopped.
Resolution
Use one of these methods to try to stop and start the RIS service:
- Try to stop and start the RIS Data Collector service from the Service Activation page on the CallManager CCMAdmin page.
Refer Service Activation for more information.
- Try to stop and start the RIS Data Collector service from the Services window under Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.
If you are not able to stop or start this service from these two locations, complete these steps.
- On the Cisco CallManager server open the Task Manager, click on the tab processes, and look for the PID of the RisDC.exe process.
- Open a DOS console and enter C:\utils.
- Run the kill RisDC.exe command to kill the RisDC.exe process. Refer to The kill Command for more information.
- Go to the services console to start the service.
