Is there a way to open links in the link portlet in a new window? currently, all links to external / internal destinations are opened in the same window. This can be anoying if users link to external pages, they would leave WxS. In the bookmarks portlet, all links are opened in a new window, but the customer prefers to have internal / external links in the same destination (link portlet)

Hi Manuel,
Suppose by default they make the system such that the links open in a new window/tab, then many many NOT like that either. I feel one easy way to handle this issue would be to open the link in a new tab/window.
What do you say about this?

Ratnadeep.

Yes, I've told the customer the same, but he requested to have a admin controllable option for this, e.g., like a checkbox when creating a new link in the portlet which says #Open in a new Window'. Our goal is, to make it as easy as possible for users to use WxS, avoiding that users need to think always about 'oh, I need to open this with right click' instead of simply click the link.

Hi Manuel,
See if the user is creating a post, then he already has got the option to direct the page to open in a new tab/window. He can do so by going to the HTML source code. However for the links mentioned in the Activities bar, we can have an enhancement request.

Ratnadeep.

I never spoke about a post, how do you came up with that? I speak about the links portlet where you can either link to a post or to an external URL, which should be opened in a new window. I'm still not sure you understand correctly what I mean?

Hi Manuel,
Thanks for clarifying the matter. I have raised the enhancement request "CSCuc73543" for this.
Hope this helps.
