Software like Symantec Backup Exec can report errors like read/write errors and uncorrectable errors of an LTO tape or when a tape has to be cleaned.
I wonder how you can gain such information in c#. When a tapes needes cleaning i found a clue in the tape api of microsoft but the other stuff i am totally cluesless about.
The only information i has is that all this stuff probably is stored in the internal cardrige memory chip on the LTO tapes. I want to ask you guys if you know anything related to this.

you have got the wrong TANDBERG. We don´t make tape streamers. That is "TANDBERG Storage". We make video conferencing equipment.
