What version of OSR does the OSB_OSR_01 gateway support? Does it support OSR2.0? If not, is there an OSB OSR gateway that does support OSR2.0? If so, how can I get it, as I don't see any other OSB_OSR gateway available for download?

Thanks,
Stan

Subject: Audium not sending conforming VXML 2.0

Wanted to add some additional information/clarification. We have a VXML2.0 server using OSB3.4 with OSR2.0. I am trying to load (into our VXML2.0 server) a very simple Audium deployed application. For the VXML Gateway for my Audium speech app, I am selecting the Speechworks OSB1.2 with OSR1.0/1.1. Accoring to the VXML2.0 spec, Appendix F, F1 Conforming VoiceXML Document, item 4 states:

              • The <vxml> element must designate the VoiceXML namespace. This can be achieved by declaring an "xmlns" attribute or an attribute with an "xmlns" prefix . The namespace for VoiceXML is defined to be http://www.w3.org/2001/vxml.

However, if you look at the attached log file, you will see the the <vxml> (tag) only contains the "version" and "application" attributes.

So, is there a later version of the OSB/OSR Gateway that generates "conforming" VXML2.0?

Thanks,
Stan

Stan,

The gateway adapter you were testing was created for Speechworks OSB 1.2 and OSR 1.0/1.1. Note that Audium, when creating a gateway adapter for a particular browser, does a rigid testing against a given platform, including the version of an ASR engine. While we do follow VoiceXML 2.0 Specification, available at [url=http://www.w3.org/TR/voicexml20/, we test our adapters against particular hardware to follow vendors' specific implementation of the VoiceXML 2.0 Specification.

This situation is similar to the web world, where there is one well defined HTML standard, but each web browser varies in page rendering. Web designers, in order to guarantee the same results across various web browsers, have to create a web site with specific adjustments for each web browser.

Note that VoiceXML 2.0 Specification, while strictly defines several aspects, it leaves room for interpretation in other areas of the VoiceXML language. Audium works closely with various vendors to guarantee the as close as possible integration between Audium Call Services and voice browsers.

Please contact your Audium Sales Representative for the most up-to-date list of available gateway adapters and for details about supported voice browsers and ASR engines.

Regards,
Michael
