Hi,

I am aware that you can use SoftKeylay to play audio files that exist on the TFTP server but I need to be able to play an audio file that would exist on another web server. I have read the IP Phone Services doc and am aware of the file formats, etc but am unclear on how to play a file outside of the TFTP server. A simple example would be appreciated if anyone has one.

Thanks

Tom

You will need a server to stream audio file at a specific multicast/unicast address, and let the phone listen to it using RTPRx URI. We are using this feature in one of our application where the local weather alerts via FM/AM radio (Eemrgency Alert System) are recorded and then a text is sent to user's phone. They can play the audio using "Play" button on the phone and it uses RTPRx URI.

Have you or anyone else got a simple example of this that you could provide?

Thanks

Hi Tom,
I am working on the similar feature where I need to play an audio file which is not placed on callmanager tftp server. I have used the following xml packet to make ip phone receieve the audio stream.
"<CiscoIPPhoneExecute>"+
                        "<ExecuteItem Priority=\"0\" URL=\"RTPRx:64.103.194.207:20482\"/>"+
                        "</CiscoIPPhoneExecute>"
I have tried streaming the audio file to the above IP Phone webserver address using the  VLC player but I don't hear any sound. Did you get an example for this application?

Hi Ram,

Did you manage to get the audio through? Please provide a sample if you could acheive this.

Thanks,
Chandan
