Hi All!
Could you tell me how to connect to the Tandberg codecs C-series, through  the serial port?
I tried to connect to oure C-20 codec using HyperTerminal with the following settings:

Bits per second: 38400 (default settings for the C-20);
Data bits: 8;
Parity: None;
Stop bits: 1;
Flow control: None;

but it doesn't work!

Did anyone have successful serial port connection to the codecs C-series?

if it's not difficult for could you tell me where I'm wrong.

Thank you in advance

Best regards

Denis

Hi Denis

How are you connecting to the codec? For the C20 you need a splitter cable which splits the Camera control input to Camera control and Serial. The settings do otherwise look correct.

The other codecs in the C-series have a dedicated Serial port..

Hi Dennis,

You should be able to purchase the splitter cable from Cisco, currently all I have is the old TANDBERG part number and description;

117727 Diagnostic Y Cable for C20 (both camera and RS-232 control)

I will try and get the Cisco part number for you.

Using a standard RS-232 cable you can connect to the C40, C60, C90 as they have standard serial ports being considered integrator codecs.

Thanks
John

Hi,

The Cisco Part number should be CAB-C20-RS232-DBG
