Core Issue

SA applications may not run properly if the incorrect user tries to restart them.

Resolution

There are two types of start-up scripts in the SA installation:

  • UNIX scripts, which automatically restart all SA elements if the server is down. All UNIX start-up scripts (rc) are executed as user "root". These scripts are located under /etc/rc2.d or /etc/rc3.d.

  • SA also has start-up scripts for each element. These scripts are used when individual elements are down and not the server.

The manual start-up scripts for each SA element have predefined users. These predefined users are:

  • Elements Names as USER
  • Oracle oracle
  • NS dsuser
  • Sonic root
  • Raviant perform
  • DE dsuser
  • DGW dsuser
