SX20 PrecisionHD 4x Camera (CTS-PHD-1080P4XS2) Fails to Boot Due to Corrupt Software Image.
The Precision HD 4x S2 camera, which is used with the SX20 codec, may fail to boot due to the software image on the camera becoming corrupt. When the camera reads the software image as corrupt, the camera will not boot up properly.
**Prevention**
This issue has been fixed in software version TC6.0 and later. It is highly recommended you proactively upgrade the SX20 software to TC6.0 or later in order to prevent the software image from becoming corrupt. All software versions before TC6.0 may cause this issue.

Solution:
If your camera currently fails to boot due to a corrupted software image, confirmed by the symptoms above, the only solution as of now is to RMA the camera.

I am also facing the same problem with12x camara, it also needs an upgrade?
When your camera is affected, you need to RMA the camera, however, to avoid new cameras being affected, you need to upgrade your codec.

Does this happen only when we upgrade/downgrade SX20 to the software before TC6.0?
And is Cisco going to announce Field Notice on this problem?
The software image may become corrupt on the camera anytime the camera restarts, such as when the codec is restarted, or the camera control cable is unplugged. So when you are upgrading or downgrading the SX20, it will cause the camera to restart which can trigger this issue. If the camera has not already failed, then upgrading to TC6 will prevent this issue from happening.
Will there be a fix for the TC5 software or is it already fixed in the TC5.1.7, if i'm not mistaken that one includes a new camera software.
Yes, the fix is also in TC5.1.7. A Field Notice on this is imminent.
The issue has been fixed in camera firmware version 20011 and later. The camera firmware with the fix for CSCud95689 is bundled with TC6.0.0 SX20 codec software (and later) released to CCO 1/31/13 and TC5.1.7 (and later) released to CCO 2/27/13.
