On page 42 there is a example of a Basic Auditorium. It mentions 4 montors and you can see from the picture and text that the single remote site on the call appears on 3 of the 4 monitors.
I am trying to do something similar where I have a single remote site on a P2P call show up on 3 monitors when no presentation is active. When I attempt to program this in TC console and send it to the C90 all that shows is the remote site on 1 screen vs 3 screens. I have tried using both Other Main and Active Speaker for the source types but get the same 1 screen only behavior.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
Nick Ciesinski

You're actually not doing anything wrong - you are hitting a limitation on being able to render the same farend site on multiple outputs. If you set "Other Main" on all video outputs on the C90 it is by design set to only ever show a far end site ONCE. If you had dialled a second farend you would see that it would appear on the second monitor.
However you are in luck :-) In TC6.2 we actually addressed this limitation and added another VideoSourceType called "participantNumber". Using this you can show the same participant anywhere as many times you like - either the same site multiple times on the same monitors, or more useful same site on different monitors - as in your case

I can see doing the monitor role for the two reinforcement screens but how would the remote video both show on those screens and the one in front as depicted in the graphics.
David Bruun-Lie has created a new message in the forum "Products": -------------------------------------------------------------- Yes, you would be able to do this if you configure both monitors to have the same monitor role, then the two monitors will always show the same content, e.g.:
xconfiguration Video Output //Monitorrole *c xConfiguration Video Output HDMI 1 MonitorRole: First *c xConfiguration Video Output HDMI 3 MonitorRole: Second *c xConfiguration Video Output DVI 2 MonitorRole: Third *c xConfiguration Video Output DVI 4 MonitorRole: Third
If you connect Remote Presenter monitor to HDMI 1, the presentation screen to HDMI 3 and the two local reinforcement screens to DVI 2 and DVI 4 you would be able to do this. This is because video layouts get assigned to MonitorRoles and not directy to the video output connectors.

That would be great to get TC Console 6.2. I am in a real bind without it as I am trying to get a room online for the start of our academic year. I am hoping you can get it posted today, if not any chance it can be emailed or something else (can't recall how big 6.1 was).
Also, because I am curious. In that document I pointed out and the setup on page 42. Was it ever possible to do that because of this limitation?

Good spotting - your prize is a copy of the newest TC Console. I'm getting my guys to publish it asap! ;-)
Cheers, David

Any idea when TC Console 6.2 will be posted? I am in a real bind without it. Is there any way to manually place the configuration on my C90 without TC console?
Thanks
Nick

Subject: RE: TC Console Replied by: NICK CIESINSKI on 19-08-2013 02:15:09 PM Thanks for posting TC Console 6.2 it did do exactly what I needed. However, I have seemed to run into a issue. Everything works perfectly when I am in a call with no content and if I am the endpoint sharing the content. However, if the far end endpoint shares the content is where things start to break.
If a remote endpoint shares the content monitors 2 and 3 will stop showing remote video. I am back at where only 1 monitor output shows the remote site. If they stop sharing content the video will once again return. If I share content it also works.
Something even more odd is I have created 3 layouts with similar but slightly different monitor assignments. My configuration is to hide all the default layouts (equal, stacked, switched, etc.) so the user can not see them and only see my custom 3 layouts. When I am on a call those other layouts are hidden, except, when a remote site shares their content. Then all the hidden layouts re-appear as selectible options.
If I decide to choose one of my other 2 custom layouts while on a call with a remote site is sharing the monitors will once again start showing the same repote site on multiple monitor outputs. So, the problem with a remote site sharing content is just occuring with the default layout.
It almost seems like a bug to me. Have you seen this before in testing you have done?
Nick
