Core Issue
A change to Structured Query Language (SQL) mixed mode authentication is not supported with Cisco CallManager 4.x.
Resolution
Microsoft Windows NT authentication is recommended, although the system supports SQL authentication. Mixed mode authentication is not supported in Cisco CallManager release 4.0. Upgrades fail and the system must be changed back to Windows authentication.
In SQL, there are only two configuration options available:
- Windows authentication
- SQL and Windows, known as mixed mode
This makes Windows the only option supported. A change from Windows to mixed mode can warrant some issues. This change requires a restart of the SQL Server service on the server where the change is made. For more information, contact the account team.
