Core Issue

This issue can be caused by changes to the registry key values.

Resolution

In order to resolve this issue, first make sure the Cisco Security Agent and any other Antivirus software is disabled and that the BARS scheduler service, IIS Services, are stopped on the box. Then, complete these steps:

  1. Make a backup of the registry.

  2. Change \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cisco Systems\BARS\information\AppStatus. Change the registry key value to IDLE.
  3. Reboot the system, and try to install or un-install again.

If this does not resolve the issue, complete these steps:

  1. Remove the BARS key and reboot.

  2. Make a backup of the registry.
  3. Delete the registry key at registry value \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cisco Systems\BARS\.
  4. Reboot the system, and try to install or un-install again.
