Created by: Arne Kampesæter on 01-12-2010 08:49:58 AM Hi, During the years I`ve learned not to repair what`s not broken... And I need to know if upgrading to TC4 from TC3.1.2 is such a case. I have a C60 which is controlled by a Crestron CP2, and the system works fine with good quality both on audio and video. I see that TC4 has snapshots which I missed in the earlier SW. But is this feature enough to upgrade ? Could I expect any surprises ? What about the integration to CP2 ? Any changes here ? I have of course read the release notes and know of the major changes.

One of the biggest features for integrators in TC4 is the ability to pre-program any possible layouts for any call scenario on the codec without having to issue loads of layout-commands from the controller any time calls are connected/disconnected etc.
There should be no big surprises regarding the integration with CP2
And in general, any major sw upgrade will also include numerous bug-fixes and improvements.

I`m not sure, but I think we use the system in a "special" way. Usually are most of the calls initiated from TMS. I have some sessions that calls in to a virtual meeting-room (Ad-hoc) These meeting rooms are set up by the TMS administrators and are out of my control. I have however wanted a way to change the picture layout for all participants for theese virtual meetings. Is this possible with TC 4 ? Or can it be done with my current SW as well ?
Btw: Can I downgrade to TC3.1.2 if i regret the upgrade ?

Is i possible to change the snapshot source ? Or is it always Camera 1 ? I would prefer to choose, either on the fly or set it fixed to Cam 2.
Is this possible ?

You can only take a snapshot of the Main Camera source. However what input source to use as the Main Camera source is configurable.

Hi David,
This pre-programmed layout feature, can you only set this through the TC Console? The release notes say that Layout AutoMode was removed. Is this a different feature?
