On the device_rx$ from the C90 [latest firmware], I am constantly getting the feedback "Video Input DVI 3/5 connected: True/False" and Video Input 3/5 Signal State: OK/Unknown". These constant feedback messages are on inputs 3 and 5 where we are using hdmi/dvi over cat 5 solutions. The feedback is causing buffer overflows of the buffer_input "device_rx" in the Simpl+ modules "Tandberg C90 +C60 Processor v1.3" and "Tandberg C90 + C60 Call Control v1.3". This buffer overflow is producing about 1000 error messages every second; Thereby jamming the processor up so it can't handle any input signals from the program. When the errors reach 10,000,000 -- the processor reboots.
This is a very big problem and we would like to have a solution to this as soon a possible as we have these unit installed in Important conference rooms here on campus.
I have attached snapshots of the feedback and also when the processor error log causes a reboot as the error log reaches its limit and rolls over.
Thanks,
Bret Wittmann

Bret,
we have seen this once at another installation. I have reported this behavior to the developers who will have a look at it.
But have you tested this cat5 solution with other types of devices apart from the C90? It sounds to me as if the signal from the input device is unstable?
David

HI David -
Thanks for the reply. In this instance we are using the Kramer Hdmi-->cat5 extenders from the output of two desktop computers. Sometimes they are turned off and sometimes they are turned on; However these extenders do require power from a transformer all of the time. So it seems that the voltages received by the C90 would be constant as we receive these feedback messages from both power states of the computers.
For now, I have turned off the video input status on the xfeedback on the serial port and this has stopped the jamming of the crestron processor, but this feedback seems to be affecting the performance of the C90 internally. Can you verify that this amount of feedback cannot be turned off through xfeedback commands on the C90 internally ?
Thanks,
Bret

Bret,
there is no way of turning off the feedback internally in the C90. We have now been able to reproduce the issue and are looking at how to resolve it. Unfortunately I am not able to give you a timeframe for when this will be available in a firmware update.
Thanks,
David

Thanks for reproducing it -- I'll stay tuned...
