Hello,

I have a few questions about the web dialer use. Currently running WebEx Social 2.5(2).

1. The web dialer in both "computer audio" and "desk phone control" modes does not utilize the Application Dial Rules on UCM as the other soft clients do (all the Jabber products, both desktop and mobile). Is this a defect or something that is on the roadmap?

2. The Web Dialer appears to be broken for Safari 5 (I'm running 5.1.3 on OS X 10.7.3) as it just spins on "Preparing Phone". It works for IE8, FF10 on Windows & Mac so I don't believe it's a config issue. What logs can I use to troubleshoot Web Dialer issues to confirm?

3. The Web Dialer appears to default to the "Computer Audio" device and does not remember that when I last signed in I used Desk Phone Control. I would prefer to use the Web Dialer solely in phone control mode (either for a desktop client like Jabber or for a physical phone), but this keeps me from doing that without users seeing errors.

4. The "Computer Audio" device seems to default to a CSF device named ECP<userID> on UCM. I was curious what the team's thought is here as this CSF device would be a second in addition to a desktop client like Cisco Jabber and therefore doesn't fit into the CUWL licensing model very well. It also raises a concern about sizing for UCM and the need for yet another separate device for a single user. To roll out WebEx Social I would now need to add a new device for every user on UCM which could lead to sizing & capacity concerns on UCM, correct?

5. When I first log in, WebDialer appears to connect successfully, but only to my Web Communicator (ECP) device. Sometimes placing calls fails, sometimes it works. When I click on the phone it says I must re-enter my password for UCM to see the rest of my devices and use desk phone control. Both WebEx Social & UCM are using LDAP for auth, so the password is the same. What logs can I pull to determine if there is a config issue or a problem with WebEx Social?

Thank you,

Ben
