We're looking to implement product features around WebEx recordings; we've noted that via the NBR API the meeting files are retrievable.
http://developer.cisco.com/web/webex-developer/api-functions#download-file

These are retrieved in a proprietary WebEx format (ARF file). Conversion can be done offline via the Network Recording tool: https://support.webex.com/support/documentation/help/index.htm#21879.htm

H
owever, our goal is to be able to provide the recordings without requiring user interaction like this; is there any way to retrieve from the WebEx servers directly with MP4 format (or initiate conversion online, rather than offline)? Or potentially share formatting information about ARF files so that conversion can be done in a central repository?

Thanks,
Bryan

Hello,

The NBR playback application does include commandline conversion capabilities for Windows, although this is an unsupported method of using the application and could be removed unexpectedly in future releases. I can provide the command line conversion document via email if you contact webex-meetings-api-dev@cisco.com. If you have any issues with the command line conversion, you should try converting manually via the NBR playback application and contact technical support only if the manual method also does not work. You can also try building a click automation script to convert using the NBR playback application user interface if command line option does not work. Conversion is a real-time process that will take about as long as the recording duration to complete, there is no progress indicator for the command line task.
