Core Issue

When running the locale installer file li-ffr.x-x-x on a Cisco CallManager server, the server does not respond, and so the server is reset. After that, when trying to run the locale installer file again, the installation process hangs, and the error message is received.

Resolution

This issue is documented in Cisco bug ID CSCea78445.

For a workaround, delete the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cisco Systems\LocaleInstaller registry key by performing these steps:

  1. Click Start, and click Run.
  2. Type regedit.exe, and click OK.
  3. Navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cisco Systems\LocaleInstaller key.
  4. Delete the LocaleInstaller key.

Once you delete this registry key, you need to reboot the server and reinstall the locale installer.

Note: Once this is done, wait at least 30 minutes    (preferably longer) before you manually end the process.
