In this video, you will see how to install, deploy and configure a high-availbility system for your CWMS.

What are the conditions/constraints for HA?
What are the failover components and system behaviour during component failure?

Hi Joythi

I am trying to deploy an HA system for a CWMS 2.5 deployment. When I initiate add HA it fails after about 10 -15 minutes.I have noticed that there is a time difference of almost 3 minutes between the Primary and HA hosts. I know from your video that NTP needs to be in synch. My question is, is 3 minutes difference enough to cause a failure for adding HA?

HI Shane,

Yes, 3min is a serious time difference that impacts data replication process. Time should be in sync almost to the second (I believe something like up to 12 sec time discrepancy might be tolerated). Make sure that your ESXi hosts use the same NTP server ,that ESXi hosts' times are in sync, and then restart the VMs and try to add HA.

I hope this will help.

Hi Dejan

Thanks for your response. After I rectified the time difference on the ESXi node that was out by 3 minutes the HA deployment was successful. Good to get confirmation that this would have been the cause of my problem.

Thanks again

Thank you for letting me know, Shane. I am glad you were able to deploy it after resolving the time issue.

Enjoy the rest of your week.
