Building Sprawler Lab on Existing Domain

Hello,

I'm looking to build a customer lab with a separate CCM, CVP and IPCC Ent 7.1 setup on a customer site with a the above already in production.

Does the lab need to be in a separate domain with a different OU or can it use the existing internal.companyX.com domain name?

My plan is just to add another Facility in ICM Domain Manager. What is the impact of this?

your lab does not need to be on a separate domain with a different OU. as long as you create a new instance name (must be different than your production environment instance) you're OK. The only think I would recommend is that for ease of playing in a lab, it is best if you have the OU admin priviledges which usually in a prod OU is hard to get. So be nice with the security people and domain admins.
