Go to SQL Enterprise Manager (Start-->Programs-->Microsoft SQL Server-->Enterprise Manager).
Expand out Microsoft SQL Servers and SQL Server Group.
You will see one or more system names listed. Expand the top one out.
Under there you should see Replication, expand that tree.
Expand Publications.
If it says (No Items), it's a subscriber. If you see CCM030X:CCM030X, then it's the publisher.
