Since I support clients with both IPCC 3.x and 4.X servers, any tips installing the agent software and the CRA editor on my notebook ?
Is there anyway to keep both versions on the notebook?
Im guessing the CAD from 4.0 wont work with 3.x server due to the massive changes.
Can the 4.0 CRA editors edit 3.x scripts?
Am I looking at a constant un-install and re-install of these apps when I switch between clients?

When you install CAD/CSD it install into a default path. (C:\Program Files\Cisco\Desktop)You may be able to change this by editing the Installmanager.cfg file in IPCC server. So for 3.5 you can create a folder by name Desktop3.5 and for 4.0 you can either leave it as Desktop or Desktop4.0
( i am not sure if this is tac supported)
This way you will be able to keep both agent versions on the same PC.
I think 3.x scripts, if they are opened in 4.x editor, the scripts get automatically converted to 4.x format.

Discussing with some of my peers, i have come to the conclusion that, even if you install them in diff. paths, there are numerous reg keys that are written by CAD/CSD. These keys may get overwritten if you try to install both softwares. So I doubt if both will work in the same system.

I use Microsoft Virtual PC for that purpose.
It works fine.
