Hi,
what is the hardware currently you have . Before you need Hardware and Cisco software .
Few Applications will come demo license for 30 /60 days .
After 8.5.4 you can not install CVP call/vxml and OPS in the same server .
ICM you need only software , no need to for License . below is the minimum Hardware requirement for Version 10.5 /11.0.1

Hi ,
You can install your laptop but 4 GB RAM , if you use the same laptop for regular use may be you will face the Performance issues .
Demo license – Without Cisco CCO account you cannot get . You may need to register with help of your sales Eng or Organization .
by default will come 30 ports with 30 days . later you can the change the Server date - it will work for lab purpose .

Dear Ramamoorthy,
4 gb dedicated ram required for sprawler or CVP (call server+vxml server+media server+ops console in same machine)

Hi,
4 GB RAM is enough for Lab setup. CVP 2 GB + ICM 2 GB .
But as per cisco recommendation for 8.5.x minimum Required 4 GB RAM for ICM . 4 GB for CVP call /VXML and 2 GB for OPS console .
Since you are using Lab so, you can use whatever you have .
If possible can can add 4 GB extra RAM .otherwise no issues .

Dear Ramamoorthy,
your answers are really very helpful for me.
frankly speeking ram is not issue for me to create tlhe lab issue is with Core. can i proceed to setup cvp and icm sprawler with 1 core each or i need more core for cvp or icm ?

Hi,
Total how many core you have if 16 core , Put 4 core for CVP and 4 core for ICM .
if you have 8 - PUT 2 + 2 .

For a lab environment you don't need to use CPU reservation and you may oversubscribe your CPU since you won't have any real amount of load because you will have nearly zero call volume. Just the overhead of the OS's and applications plus the few test calls you make into your lab. So kind of "forget" the concept of "how many cores" and focus instead on how many CPU cycles each VM is going to be consuming. Again just for a lab environment.

Ramamoorthy,
Can you please share how did you manage to setup SPRAWLER in 6 GB only? And is this for v10.5?
I was checking the virtualization portal for UCCE v10.5 and for example, HDS needs 8 GB of RAM. So my question is - how did you manage to include that in SPRAWLER with 6 GB? Did the install not fail? OR did you run into any issues while executing calls?
Thanks.

We used for Lab purpose and it was succeed .
For this setup we did not used OVA template , you have to set all the Hardware settings by manually ( like , RAM , CPU ,HDD , NIC )
Version is 10.0.1 then migrated to 10.5.1
