Two questions:
1. Does Unified Contact Center Express require CallManager 5.xx? We are currently running CallManager 4.1(3), and I'm wondering if an upgrade is required.
2. Does Unified Contact Center Express require its own server, or can it run on one of the CallManager servers?

1. No, you can get the Unified Contact Center Express is essentially the same thing as Cisco IPCC Express, it's the new marketing brand. Use IPCC 4.0 to integrate with CCM 4.1 or Unified Contact Center 4.5 to integrate with CCM 5.0
2. If you are going to deploy IPCC 4.0 with CCM 4.1 then you have an option to either use seperate servers or co-existing server. With CCM 5.0 and IPCC 4.5 since CCM is appliance based Linux OS and IPCC is windows based the co-existing deployment is not supported (impossible).
Snippet from IPCC 4..5 SRND "In addition, because Cisco CallManager 5.0 operates on a Linux
server and IPCC Express 4.5 operates on a Windows server, co-resident deployments are not supported"
For more info refer to the SRND:

Do we have to use a Cisco server to install CCM 4.1, or can we use one of our regular IBM or HP servers?

You can either use Cisco labled HP or IBM server, or get the server directly from HP or IBM. Refer to following links for supported platforms:

Hi Chris,
If using the HP/IBM server, is there any special procedures to follow when doing the installation? If yes, please share that info to me.
Thanks,
Chris

No, when you insert the Hardware Detaction Disk it will detact the server as corresponding MCS server, for example if you have HP DL380 it will detect it as MCS-7845.
HTH,
Chris
