Check Out What's New in the "NSO with Third-Party NED and gNMI" Learning Lab

Making Sense of Cisco IOS-XR Integration

So, we've got news! The NSO (Network Services Orchestrator) Learning Lab is all shiny and new with some cool updates. What's this Lab about, you ask? Well, it's a handy tool showing you how to use a third-party NED (Network Element Driver) with Cisco IOS-XR, using the cisco-iosxr_gnmi setup. And the best part, it now has some new stuff to make things even easier for you!

The Lab is all about showing you how to use a third-party NED for Cisco IOS-XR devices that support gNMI (gRPC Network Management Interface). One thing to remember though - the NED doesn't come with device YANG (Yet Another Next Generation) models. But don't worry, the Lab walks you through the whole process of setting up and using the NED, which includes installing the YANG models and running gNMI operations to manage your network devices.

So what's new in the Lab? Let's break it down:

1 NSO Update: We've upgraded the Lab to use the latest NSO 6.2.1 release. This means you get to play around with all the newest features and capabilities of the NSO.

2 Revamped Third-Party NED and gNMI Adapter: The Lab now features the latest version of the NED and gNMI Adapter, meaning you get all the new features and bug fixes. So, you can learn more efficiently without any hiccups.

3 Environment Variables in NED Commands: This one's a game-changer! You can now use environment variables in NED commands, making the commands shorter and easier to handle.

4 New gNMI Set Commands Example: We've added a working example of how to use gNMI Set for managing your network devices. This example is like a mini tutorial, helping you get a practical understanding of how to use this function.

So, that's the rundown of what's new in the "NSO with third-party NED and gNMI" Learning Lab. We hope these updates help make your learning experience even better. Keep checking this blog for more updates and cool features coming your way!
