This survey was initiated as a follow-up to the Sustainability Keynote by Koen Bastiaens and Saumya Dubey at Automation Developer Days in Stockholm in May 2022. Our goal was to better understand your view on sustainability and automation. We wanted to ask 3 very basic questions to learn how important sustainability is to the community.
The result was very clear despite the small number of respondents.
- Sustainability is an important and relevant topic to discuss and collaborate on.
- 6 out of 10 already use automation to drive sustainability and 3 out of 10 want to know more.
- 9 out of 10 want to collaborate with us to develop different use cases.
- The single most popular use case is not unexpectedly about optimizing and reducing power consumption. Here, there are probably several different approaches and great potential for innovation.
To continue the discussion we challenge you to share your experience and invite the community to the discussion and problem-solving. Let us know how we can facilitate workshops or similar.
