Service sync on a brownfield network: it's a journey, not a destination.
Nearly a decade ago, Crown Castle kicked off a network automation adventure with Cisco NSO. Today, that decision underpins the streamlined delivery of services on our nationwide, multi-vendor fiber network. One of NSO's greatest strengths is the use of model-driven automation to abstract away implementation details. What does it look like to integrate our finely crafted models with the realities of a complex network environment? In this talk, we’ll share our automation story, describe some of the challenges we've faced, and explain how Crown Castle has evolved our reconciliation/service discovery toolset over time to make the most of NSO's capabilities to manage the full lifecycle of a service.
