ACI Question for using FCOE with the current leafs

Hello, I am confused about the possibility to use our current leafs to be used for FCOE traffic, our current leafs are N9K-C9396PX working in ACI mode and our ACI version is 3.

By checking the N9K-C9396PX data sheet, it should support FCOE as per the below link https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/switches/nexus-9396px-switch/index.html

However by checking another link, I found the only supported models on ACI are N9K-C93180YC-EX & N9K-C93108TC-EX as per the below link

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/aci/apic/sw/1-x/aci-fundamentals/b_ACI-Fundamentals/b_ACI-Fundamentals_chapter_010011.html#id_85764

Can someone confirm please if we can use the N9K-C9396PX leafs for FCOE or not? And if we can use, is there a configuration guide to follow for such deployment? thanks.

Hello Network Digger,

I hope you are doing great,

Accoding to the following document the 3.X version should support the leaf:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/aci/apic/sw/3-x/verified_scalabilty/b_Verified_Scalability_3_0_1x_and_13_0_1x.pdf

It seems odd, but if the leaf supports FCoE, it should work with no problems, the confusion might be that this C9396PX is EoL, and therefore is not shown in the link you provided, since it shows the current products that are supported and not EoL.

My recommendation would be to set up a window and test the config, and after it was successful, move it to production.

Keep us posted,
