I have 3 spf-ge-t 1000base-t modules that don’t want to connect. I have one in eth1/1 and 1/13. Neither want to connect to a dl360 or another Cisco switch I have. I followed the guidance after looking up and set the speed to 1000. They are both still showing link not connected. The fiber connected instantly and I have no issues. I’ve tried shutting down and no shutting the ports with no luck. The distant ends (switch and server) both lights flap between green and no green. What can I be missing?

This sfp should work on your box since version 4.0.1a
Can you run show interface transceiver to see if it's recognized?
Thanks
Francesco

Sorry you lost me.
What the actual output of sh int status? Do you still see sfp validation error?
And you said fiber is ok but when you connect both, you have the status not connected??
What's the relationship between fiber and this rj45 connection? Are they connected to the same remote device?
Thanks
Francesco

Francesco,
after I performed the commands you wanted, I got the spf validation error. The only way I have made that god away is setting the speed to 1000. But then even with the RJ 45 connection connected, I till get the Link not connected.
The fiber connections have no bearing on this, I was just simply stating that the 10Gb fiber is working correctly. An additional note. I tried a 1gb fiber this morning and the 1gb fiber worked. This seems to be solely an issue with the RJ45 / cat 5 transceivers

Have you tried another sft-t or did you try this one on another switch?
You validated the cable was ok?
Thanks
Francesco

I have 3 of the RJ45 transceivers. All 3 display the same symptoms. Cable was tested and works

Weird.
This cable connects to a host? Is it the only cable connecting to this remote device or do you have multiple links?
On this remote host, you should also see the link down right?
Thanks
Francesco

The cable coming off this transciever will not connect to anything. I've tried a managed switch, unmanaged switch, as well to my pfsense router, ESXi machine. It will not go green. both link lights on the remote computers will blink green almost at the same tiime. but will not go green

Have you tried enable the following command for the interface (just in case):
service unsupported-transceiver
Not sure it will help because the SFP is recognized. Maybe you would like to open a TAC case.
Thanks
Francesco

Ordered and finally got a different transceiver from a different supplier. The 3 that I had originally are not working. Soon as I plug the other one in, link went right up
