Hello Krath
Both versions are recommend by developer
However there will be some difference between the NX-OS trends
For example M1 modules are no supported in 8 codes
Link for release notes
Cisco Nexus 7000 Supervisor 1 modules, M1 series modules (XL and non-XL modes), FAB-1 modules, F2 series modules are not supported in Cisco NX-OS Release 8.x.
The following list provides the unsupported hardware for Cisco NX-OS Release 7.3(0)DX(1), Cisco NX-OS Release 7.3(1)D1(1), Cisco NX-OS Release 7.3(2)D1(1):
What modules are running in your switch. Can you run a "show module"

The show module provide belongs to a Nexus 9k. I tough you had a Nexus Nexus 7010.
Your concern regarding the recommend code is regard a Nexus 9k or Nexus 7k?

Thanks for the information
In your case you can not move to the recommend version because the Module N7k-F132XP-15 is not supported in any of the recommend codes
The latest version you can move is 6.2(24a) where the hardware running in your switch is still supported
