Nexus Data Center Switches Connectivity to Catalyst 9300/4500 switches

Is it recommended to connect Nexus 9504 chassis with X97160 line cards with Cataylst switches (9400/6500/4500).  I am thinking of using 10G-CU SFP+ 5 meter cables instead of standard 10Gb SFP SR modules.  I understand that it has to meet the distance criteria.
