I need to connect a 4500 VSS to a Nexus5500/2200 FEX (redundant mode). The FEX had BDPU guard enable by default and will error disable if a BDPU is received. L3 channel is not an available option, but L2 channel is possible. Here are some options I am thinking:
1) L2 channel between VSS and Nexus with an SVI terminating L3 at the VSS. Enable porttfast/bdpu filter on VSS ports so bdpu guard doesn’t error disable ports in the Nexus devices.
2) Flexlink on VSS ports to disable STP (bdpu send/receive??)
The idea is to connect the two environments at L2 (port channel or not) w/o potential L2 loop issues (bdpu filtering, etc). The nexus devices host FWs and the VSS will have a L3 SVI that the FWs will point to.
Thanks in advance.

Hello Rene,
Hope you are doing well.
I think the best options is connect 4500 direct to Nexus 5000. This is a valid option for you?

Unfortunately that is not an option... Thanks

Hello Rene,
This is a unsupported configuration.
On fex port disable STP, this will disable bpduguard too.
Good luck and regards,
