Password Recovery Nexus 3064 not working

So here is what I do know:

Cisco Nexus 3064PQ-10GE; came from production environment; boots; nxos.7.0.3.I2 current image; admin password unknown; can get into switch boot; password wont hold after loading bootflash.

 

I dont know the admin password. I have followed the recovery document exactly, even the same password!  When prompted to login, the password previously set, fails. I have a more current image on hand that I plan to update it with, nxos.7.0.3.I7.8. Not sure if that will be of any use with the current issue. 

 

I just want this reset to default configs and be able to update it as well as configure it for the lab.

 

Lets just say these past few nights have been a learning curve in the Cisco world. I want to figure this out and get it working. I am just out of ideas.

Hi @RAY66351 

Although I would suggest to test again the password recovery (make sure you don't reload the device after setting the temp password), you have the option to format the flash, and boot from tftp/usb:

 

loader> set ip ip-address
loader> set gw gw-address 
loader> cmdline recoverymode=1 
loader> boot tftp: tftp-path 
switch(boot)# init system 
switch(boot)# load-nxos
