Hi,

i`ve installed a permanent license on the nexus (before i`ve de-installed the eval license).

One esx host with two CPUs is connected to the nexus.

So normaly a "show license usage NEXUS1000V_LAN_SERVICES_PKG" should give me this

Application
-----------
VEM 3 - Socket 1

VEM 3 - Socket 2
-----------

but i only see "VEM Socket 1"

A "show license usage" give me this:

Feature                                             Ins Lic Count Status Expiry Date Comments
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NEXUS1000V_LAN_SERVICES_PKG   Yes      4     In use      Never       -
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Any idea?

regards

Thorsten

Can you collect the following output on the VSM ?

show license brief

show license

module vem 3 execute vemcmd show card

Note on evaluation licenses:

Evaluation licenses should be uninstalled from the system when a permanent license is to be installed.

Please  use the instructions at  http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/datacenter/nexus1000/sw/4_0/license/configuration/guide/license_2install_cfg.html#wp1052650 to uninstall the evaluation license file on your VSM.

show license brief

license.lic

This is the file from the email (renamed) i got.....

show license

show license
license.lic:

This is how i uninstalled the eval license -> http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/datacenter/nexus1000/sw/4_0/license/configuration/guide/license_2install_cfg.html#wp1052650

Hi Thorsetnn,

As you can see from the vemcmd show card output, the number of sockets on this VEM is 1.

"Processor Sockets: 1"

That is the reason the VEM is consuming only one license.

Thanks,

Vishnu

Hmmmm, and what about this?

Thorsten,

I believe that this problem may have been fixed for the next version of Nexus 1000V.

It looks like you are running a Nehalem processor which supported hyperthreading.

When you captured Unbenannt.jpg, was there a line after Logical Procesors saying whether hyperthreading is enabled or disabled?

If not, if you boot the host into the BIOS config (when convenient), does it say whether hyperthreading is enabled?

Thanks,

Mark

It says "Hyperthreading: Active" .

I mean at the moment this is no disadvantage for me so i`ll wait for the next version of the nexus 1000v. (But for my interest, when will this release? :-)

Thanks for help up to here.
