Hello ;

I have customer with two datacenter actif/actif using cisco OTV with dark fiber of 1G, now we are installing a second OTV using the same Wan link of 1G to extand the DMZ's vlan , we have two cisco nexus 7706 in each site the existing OTV is using a sticky mode , the fiber link is plugged into a cisco 4500x in each site and the old VDC are connetced directly to 4500x

the new VDC's (AGG and OTV of the DMZ) are connected to a cisco 3750 which is connected to 4500X in each site,

the probleme is that the new OTV is proppely configured and UP , the IS-IS is working propely but no data can pass through the OTV!! the control plan is working but not the data plan

my question is can we use the same WAN link to configure two OTV ?

as shown in the attached files , with red color the old OTV and woth purple the new one

Thanks

Kim

Hi Kim,

The WAN should support any OTV running on top of it.

OTV traffic are encapsulated at OTV VDC and that becomes a normal ip traffic between the transport links (WAN links). As long as your WAN have ip connectivity, the OTV should be able to run properly. When you use the multicast mode, please make sure two OTV are in different groups.

Hope this will help.

Joseph Liu
