VSS/VSL vs HSRP

Hi all,

Can you help me to understand better the advantages and disadvantages of VSS/VSL and HSPR?
Having to choose one of the 2 to configure 2 switches in the same data center, which one to choose?

VSS with no shadow of doubt. HSRP is an work around when you dont have VSS possibility. In VSS you have hardware redundancy but from the configuration perspective, one device. 

  VSS gives you a great advanced leading with Spanning-tree as the network perspective there will be no loop.
