rommon-2, IR809

Hi,

I have a problem with the IR809G. The router stucks in the rommon-2.

This is the output in putty:

<3> [0.753643] IOAPIC: IOAPIC 1 initialized, implementation version 32

<3> [0.753643] <E1000> e1000_device_init: initialized E1000 device

<3> [0.753643] <E1000> e1000_device_init: initialized E1000 device

<6> PCI: Initializing

<6> PCI: Finished Initializing

Autoboot string flash:/ir800-universalk9-mz.SPA.156-3.M2,12;

Failed to boot, skip first flash:/ir800-universalk9-mz.SPA.156-3.M2,12;

rommon-2> dir

flash:

rommon-2>

rommon-2>

How can I copy the IOS-image from rommon-2?

Thanks for your help!

Did you see the post of Re: How to Boot to IOS from rommon-2, and Not Have to do That Again?

If there is the image file of "ir800-universalk9-mz.SPA.156-3.M2" in flash:, you may simple run: rommon-2> boot flash:/ir800-universalk9-mz.SPA.156-3.M2 to boot IR809. or, please use TFTP to copy the image to IR809 first.

use the command below to TFTP copy first to flash:

rommon-> tftp 10.1.11.12.13 /tftpboot/ir800-universalk9-mz.SPA.156-3.M2 flash:

You may use help to see what exact command it it. the basic idea is to use tftp to copy the image to Flash:.

change from Rommon-2 to Rommon-1:

Try Ctrl-C while reboot the system. It worked for me on IR829.

For how to use the commands at rommon-1 and 2, you may refer to Rommon Recovery Procedure for the Cisco IR800 Industrial ISR - Cisco
