Changing the name of my C160s?

Hi folks. I've recently had 2 C160s instaled and wish to change the name given by the installer to something more apropriate....is this easily possible

e.g. from fred.iron.company.com to fred.iron.internalname.com

Hello Pat,

It’s very easy.
Just run the sethostname command from the CommanLineInterface (CLI).

Please note two important points.
1) Your Ethernet interfaces have a DNS hostname. You need to change those to. Use the CLI command interfaceconfig for that.

2) If you change your hostname in your DNS, make user you have added the new hostname to all downstream mail systems that grand access to your Ironport on it's Hostname (if any). Please note: these systems normally use a reversed DNS query to grant access. So keeping your old hostname as an Alias will not help solving this problem.
