Cisco ESA C600V Upgrade

Hi,

We have a cluster of two ESA C600V running on 10.0.0-203. We want to upgrade to 11.1.0 or 11.0.0.

My questions are:

1) Is there a document which can point me to the correct upgrade process of Cisco C600V? And how long does it take to complete the whole upgrade process as I have not done it before. Can I go straight to 11.0.0/11.1.0 from 10.0.0-203

2) Is it OK to upgrade to 11.1.0 given that it is in LD stage compared to 11.0.0 which is already in GD stage?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Jayson

Hello Jayson,

According to https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/security/esa/esa11-1/ESA_11-1_Release_Notes.pdf

To get to 11.1 GD you'll need to go to a 10.0.2 or 10.0.3 build first.
• 10.0.2-020
• 10.0.3-004

According to :
https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/security/esa/esa10-0/ESA_10-0-3_Release_Notes.pdf (this covers 10.0.2 paths as well)
Upgrading to Release 10.0.2-020 - MD (Maintenance Deployment)
• 10.0.0-203
• 10.0.0-217
• 10.0.1-087
• 10.0.1-102
• 10.0.1-103

So from your current 10.0.0-203 build -> go to 10.0.2-020 -> 11.1.0-128 to go to that build.

Regards,
Matthew

The release notes are on Cisco's site, they will tell you what version you can jump from. I think there were 10.x versions of that list. Worst case, you have to do 1 extra hop...

It's about 20-30 minutes each hop

11.1.0-128 is GD.
