Cisco IronPort C170 Decommissioned - Wipe Config?

We have decommissioned one of our C170 IronPort Appliances and want to wipe the config before disposal.  We did both the RESETCONFIG and DIAGNOSTIC | RELOAD, while the running config was cleared, there was still the option to do a ROLLBACKCONFIG and get to my old settings.  Additionally, all of the log files are still view-able with our data.

Any thoughts short of a physical disk shredder???

Hello Wvedmaria,

If you would like to clear all the data out of the hard disks to ensure there is nothing left (assuming you're not returning this device to Cisco as it's being decomissioned) you can pull the hard drives out and format them completely using a third party tool if you wish.

As the rollback config is accessing the stored configuration files in the backend of the device.

Regards,

Matthew
