I am doing my ESA renewal and I can't get past the acronyms. 

What is the difference between

ESA-ESI-SMS-1K and  ESA-ESI-SMS-1

What is CON-SNT-SMS-1

Hi,

ESA-ESI-LIC is the license for Email Essentials compromising AS, AV and OF whereas ESA-ESI-1Y-S1 is the subscription for one year.   I didn't see any SKU you have mentioned.

CON-SNT is the hardware support for the appliance.

So should I have to buy the license every year? or just initially and then renew the subscription?

The license if subscription and needs to be renewed yearly or three years, as per your requirement.  Usually three year license cost will be attractive.
