Installing third party tools on ESA / IronPort AsyncOS

Is it possible to install third party tools on ESA / IronPort AsyncOS? If yes, then please share how it can be done. 

As per my knowledge , asyncOS is customized linux OS.

Cisco does not like to customise or make any changes or add any tools to their customised version of Linux.

what is the need of that tools required to installed on Async OS - why not they install out of the box.

AsyncOS does not give root capabilities its all locked Only TAC can access root#

Ours is a VM appliance and hosted on VMware , 
Infra team is moving this VM to Nutanix AHV , so moving VM they want to install a tool on ESA AnyncOS

You might have to deploy a new VM, not just move your current one.
