Ironport Migration

Hi guys, 

I have an Ironport ESA-C370-K9 and recently got some issue on it. I have another get a spare unit from my vendor. However, the spare AsyncOS is version 10.0.1 while my ironport is running 10.0.3. 

Would like to check is there a big difference? Can i just extract my config and put into the spare unit ?

Please advise. Thank you very much in advance.

Version differences are an issue. The have to match... ( you can sometimes get it to go, but it's not worth the headache.)


Get the new unit on line, with dhcp ips is fine.

Upgrade it to matching version.

Make sure all the same license keys are on the new box.

Then you can export config, make sure to use "plain passwords"
Unplug old box.

Import config on new box (it will have the old box''s ip addresses...)

Thanks for your reply. I have suggest to upgrade to the same version so it is more easier to maintain and more easier to import the config
