Let's ask the questions which are not covered in the sizing guide.

a) Do you intent to have a high availablity solution, then you will need at least 2 incoming ESA, most likely type 300 to give you some headroom. Cisco software is user based and can be installed on as many appliances as needed.

b) Do you intent to have a centralized SPAM quarantine and message tracking then you will need at least on SMA most likely also a type 300.

c) Is your email system inhouse like Lotus Notes or Exchange or cloud based like O365  ? This may impact your sizing decisions as well based on your DMZ architecture. Some companies want dedicated outgoing ESA.

d) Going hardware or software based like ESX is your choice. If you have a cloud strategy a virtual setup might be easier to implement.

I hoe that helps.
