Hi,

Which AsyncOS version is recommended for Cisco Ironport ESA C195, which one is the most stable in your experience, 14 or 15 ?

Late 14... I'm on 15.5.1 and haven't seen any issues, but 15.0 was problematic for some people as Cisco upgraded the OS under it all so it took a while to surface all of the bugs.

any from 14.2.x.
from 15.x - 15.0.1 or 15.5

Hi,

I don't seem to be able to find the software using the software download section on Cisco's website - can anyone advise?

Many Thanks

James

Hardware upgrades are from the box...
In the GUI, System Administration/System Upgrade.

You can download now with no production impact, then suspend receiving mail, install the upgrade, reboot, resume.

Whole proccess is here:

Thanks Ken,

Sadly we have a ESA-C195-K9 we're trying to get working with which someone stupidly wipes the drives, is this now a brick as I can't see anywhere that you can install it from scratch as you can with lots of other cisco devices. It looks to me that you buy these pre-installed and can upgrade but can't in an emergency do a fresh install - am I correct? A few of the other cisco devices we encounter like that such as the AIR-CT units are the same thing.

Thanks

Asfar as I know, at this point it is a brick. If it is under support you might be be able to RMA it.

or just convert your license and deploy VMs. You can deploy as many of whatever size you need...

Thanks, in the past we've cloned drives of things like AIR-CT5520s - do you see any reason why we couldn't get a S390 we know as ironport installed and just clone the drives across or are there licensing implications?

I honestly have zero idea if that will work. Gut feel, it won't... but I really have no idea.
