Hi, my environment has 01 C170 box with the version 7.5.1-102 and I bought 01 C380 to upgrade the infrastructure.
My question is, in order to I get the successful upgrade I have to upgrade the version from C170 to the same C380.
The C380 came with the release 8.0.1-023.
My question is: Does The C170 support upgrade till this version? How many upgrades I have to do to reach the version 8.0.1-023?
How is the best way to make a cluster with these 02 boxes?
Thank you.

Yes - the C170 can upgrade to 8.0.1-023. Upgrade path would be:
phoebe-7-5-1-102 --> phoebe-7-6-1-022 --> phoebe-8-0-1-023
The best way to cluster... the C380 should have the 'clusterconfig' command active, and you can request the license from our Global Licensing Operations for the C170, they should be able to provide a temp license, or full license...
Please contact our Global Licensing Operations team:

I hope this helps!

The upgrade path can vary... full path, varied path:
phoebe-7-5-1-102 --> phoebe-7-6-2-014 --> phoebe-8-0-1-023
phoebe-7-5-1-102 --> phoebe-7-6-1-022 --> phoebe-8-0-1-023
phoebe-7-5-1-102 --> phoebe-7-5-2-203 --> phoebe-8-0-1-023
Clustering license wise - depending on your expectation of the appliances and your setup configuration, you can have just centralized management licensed in order to perform the configuration sharing between the appliances. But, if you are expecting two appliances to operate in the same fashion, with virus scanning, spam scanning, and other processes split between the two (round robin DNS for example), then you will need to have identical licenses on both appliances.

Hi Robert,
Thank for the reply.
So, If I follow this upgrades sequence, Can I have successful upgrade?
I am telling this, because I had another upgrade experience, and the upgrade sequence was - 7.5.1-102 --> 7.6.2-014 --> 7.6.3-019, till 8.0.1-023.
And one doubt: In order to clustering, the licenses in both appliances have to be the same features?
Regards.

Very good Robert.
One question about the Centralized Management licence. Whats happen, if this license expires in the current appliance running C170, before I am able to upgrade and configure the cluster?
Tks

Hi, Robert.
We have 2 x C670 running v7.5.1-102 and will like to take this upgrading path:
7.5.1-102 ---> 7.6.2-014 --> 8.0.1-023 -->8.5.6-092. Can you help to estimate how long it will take to finish one step upgrade? That will help me to book maintenance window. Thanks/

Roughly - I would allow at least 15-30 minutes per hop, which gives time to download and install the OS upgrade, and then the associated reboot that is needed.
