Upgrading Ironport AsyncOS from version 8.5.6 to version 9

Dear all,

I want to upgrade Ironport from version 8 to version 9. There are 4 virtual Email Security Appliances in a cluster.

The question is, can I just upgrade the Cisco Ironport from AsyncOS 8.5.6 directly to AsyncOS 9 or is there any pre-requisite(s)? Is there any configuration change? Should I exclude it first, etc?

I hope to get some advices.

Any kind of help will be appreciated.

Thank you very much.

Depending on which version you are running, it should be one hop to get from 8.5.6 to 9.1.0.

See the following for quick reference on upgrading appliances in cluster:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/security/email-security-appliance/118266-technote-esa-00.html

Configuration will roll forward.  You should not have any issues w/ the upgrade.

Be sure that you have applied the SSH keys patch for your virtual ESA.
