using SSL Certificates with Intermediate CA's

we have a wild card SSL certificate for our domain (InstantSSL one) but it requires an intermediate CA certificate to be installed.

does anyone know if this kind of certificate can be installed? I can install the wildcard cert but IE throws up an error as there is no intermediate CA certificate on the ironport.

Apparently AsyncOS does not support intermediate CA's.

We used OpenSSL to generate keys and certificates. The link below guided me through the process:

I generated keys and certs on a unix box, then pasted them onto our IronPort boxes.
