Cannot reset IE-1000 Industrial switch

I recently purchased several of the IE-1000 switches and exploring the GUI.  Unfortunately, I mis-configured the switch and now it is inaccessible.  I would like to reset the switch back to factory defaults.  However the instructions don't seem to match the switch responses

Here are the instructions from the manual:

Resetting the Switch
These are reasons why you might want to reset the switch to the factory default settings:
 You installed the switch in your network and cannot connect to it because you assigned the wrong IP address.
 You want to reset the password on the switch.
Note: Resetting the switch deletes the configuration and reboots the switch.
To reset the switch:
1. Press and hold the Express Setup button (recessed behind a small hole in the faceplate) for about 15-20 seconds
with a paper clip or similar object. The switch reboots. The system LED turns green after the switch completes
rebooting.
2. Press the Express Setup button again for 3 seconds. Fa 1/1port blinks green.
The switch now behaves like an unconfigured switch.

A. The system LED stays on unless powered off, no matter how long I push the reset button.

B.  When you do push the express button, the EXP light will blink red for a few seconds then stop.

C.  The Fa 1/1 Port never blinks unless a cable is plugged into it.

I have tried it both dhcp mode and static mode.

I have done a reset and the default password does not work. Anyone else having the same issue ?

Hi @Andrew McN

Please leave the username field blank and enter "cisco" as the password. If the password is not accepted, it likely means the factory reset process was not completed correctly. In that case, please repeat the reset steps and try again.

Thank you.

Hello,

Thanks for the reply. I have done the reset several times and still states incorrect user or password. I did manage to login over a week ago and I was configuring the switch, then the connection dropped out and I have not been able to get in since, even after several factory resets.
