I am building a microwave hub on top of a mountain for 6 1GB wireless links. I am choosing the IE-5000 because I am not 100% confident in my temperature control. I will need layer 3 switching, so I want to buy the IP Services software upgrade. 1. I am finding that some of the new Cisco switches such as the IE-1000 don't support the standard Cisco CLI. Does this switch support the standard CLI command set? 2. How has the IP Services upgraded worked for anyone that has used it. Is there anything that I need to be aware of? 3. Are there any better choices for me? GDB

I recently purchased several of the IE-1000 switches and exploring the GUI. Unfortunately, I mis-configured the switch and now it is inaccessible. I would like to reset the switch back to factory defaults. However the instructions don't seem to match the switch responses Here are the instructions from the manual: Resetting the Switch These are reasons why you might want to reset the switch to the factory default settings: You installed the switch in your network and cannot connect to it because you assigned the wrong IP address. You want to reset the password on the switch. Note: Resetting the switch deletes the configuration and reboots the switch. To reset the switch: 1. Press and hold the Express Setup button (recessed behind a small hole in the faceplate) for about 15-20 seconds with a paper clip or similar object. The switch reboots. The system LED turns green after the switch completes rebooting. 2. Press the Express Setup button again for 3 seconds. Fa 1/1port blinks green. The switch now behaves like an unconfigured switch. A. The system LED stays on unless powered off, no matter how long I push the reset button. B. When you do push the express button, the EXP light will blink red for a few seconds then stop. C. The Fa 1/1 Port never blinks unless a cable is plugged into it. I have tried it both dhcp mode and static mode.
