Hi,
anybody knows if it is possible to use two handset in a single cisco IP phone?
if yes, with which model of IP phone?
if not, is it possible to use one handset and one headset together in a single cisco IP phone?
If yes, suppose I am on the phone with the headset, is it possile to make a new phone call with the handset still remaining on the phone with the headset?
I know I can make a new call with a single handset but this is not what I'm looking for.

I don't think so you can have two handsets in a single ip phone

are you trying to plug an IP phone into another IP phone's ethernet jack? "Daisy-chain" is ok to use for the handsets. Just certain configs have to be done to allow the signaling to pass through.

I would like to know if there is a way to use 2 handset together.. or, at least, 1 handset and 1 headset at the same time in a single cisco ip phone..
it is because a customer needs to change the phones of trading staff (that actually uses a siemens trading system) with new cisco IP phones and the only feature that cisco ip phones do not provide (and siemens have) is the use of 2 handset..

On every 7940 and up have headset jacks on the back.
Jack 1 is for the handset
jack 2 is for the headset
On the phone, you have 3 buttons. Headset, Speaker and default handset. You can seamlessly switch between any function of these three without dropping a call.
Trader is on the handset, wants to switch to a wireless headset to walk around. Hit the headset button on the phone, hang up the handset and walk.
The headset jack could be used for another handset if you choose I suppose.

do you know if is only possible to switch the call to a wireless headset or can I also make a new phone call (while, at the same time, on the handset a person is waiting on hold)?
I mean, trader is on the handset asking me for some price.. I make a new call with headset and ask for stocking options price.. stop the call with headset and go back to the person on handset to tell about the price..

Sure, put the first person on hold, hit the soft key button "new call", hit the headset button for wireless and you are set.
Remember, the headset, the handset, and speaker phone does not care if you 1 call on hold or 7 calls on hold on the IP phone. You are the controller to which device you want to use.
For wireless, there a number of different devices you can use. I just received some Plantronics Voyager 510S with lifters. These are bluetooth models, so the distance is only 30 feet. Can get 2.4mhz or 900mhz that go up to 200 feet.
I think the concept you are trying achieve with the IP phone is how it can handle multiple calls on one device. And the bottom line answer is that the 79xx series can be configured to have as many virtual lines as you want. I could have (3) different traders on three different lines and my wife on line 4. If I wanted to conference them all in at once, I can use AdHoc conferencing and "Join" all 4 calls together. A little awkward, but you get the picture.
So don't worry about about the handset, headset options, just grasp the concept that the phone can have 1 DID assigned to it, but many appearances assigned to it. Make calls and take calls off on extension.
